Kaorta® is a cellular therapy for AFib and congestive heart failure, delivered as a single IV infusion of PVC (perivascular) cells drawn from the patient or a related donor. Both conditions are driven by inflammation that interrupts the nerve signals to the heart, leaving contractions incomplete. Kaorta® is designed to help remove that inflammation so the nerves can heal and steady.

The approach started in our neuropathy practice, where the same cells were used to support recovery around inflamed nerves within the brain. After nine years of developing the PVC method, we saw the same kind of inflammation behind AFib and CHF, sitting on the nerves that tell the heart when to beat.
